    • (Research):Found a Alfred Lockyer aged 21 born in Bristol as an A.B. (Able-Bodied, fully qualified Seaman) aboard the Penelope (24157) in 12/1864. As it takes 3 years to become a A.B. from a O.S. (Ordinary Seaman) Alfred must have been in the Mariner for at least 3 years prior to this.
